Delaware

Welcome to Delaware and a brief overview ofThe First State.

Delaware is located, with parts of three other states, on the Delmarva ("Del"aware + "Mar"yland + "V"irgini"a") Peninsula on the eastern coast of the 48 "conterminous" states. Considered one of the Southern States, it is bordered by Pennsylvania on the north andMaryland on the south and west. Delaware is bordered on the east by the Delaware River, Delaware Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The second smallest state, Delaware's narrow shape and its small size make it almost impossible to make out on this map of North America. Only the tiny New England State ofRhode Island is smaller than Delaware.
